Although it doesn’t seem to affect everyone, I am aware of a problem with our eCommerce provider’s software and support (or lack of it) for IE8 which is the latest version of IE available for XP. It affects placing an order and the setting of the shipping rates appropriate to the location.
At the moment, all they are suggesting is to “upgrade” but as XP doesn’t support IE9 it would mean either pick another browser or upgrade your OS. Not very helpful!
In the meantime, if you could try ordering on a different machine with an updated browser, or use a different browser on XP.
I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience while we see if this is resolvable more easily.

With so many upgrades available for IE8 on XP (Firefox, Opera, Chrome, etc) and many companies dropping support for this antique browser, I see no reason why should anybody still use it.

While I understand that, not far of 15-20% of browsers out there are still IE8: that’s a huge chunk og the market. I would say the biggest hinderance to browser upgrade is that these machines are probably on XP, and IE9 won’t work on XP.

Thanks for investigating the problems of ordering due to the Ecommerce software.
Whilst I am using windows XP and it is loaded with IE8 – I have my browser set
for use with AOL – Regret same problem exists and unable to process my order.

Ken, I had similar problems with AOL so I installed MSIE web browser and ran both through AOL connection and it worked by ordering with MSIE. AOL own stand alone software blocks certain pop-ups and compatability problems which is reknowned for blocking ordering online, especially because of the differences between AOL UK and AOL USA software kernals. So I would recommend you install the highest version of MSIE to work along side AOL’s own software plus install AOL own software to allow MSIE to work together through the AOL connection which runs in hidden mode near the clock. Forgotten the correct terminology even after 20 years beta testing AOL software, lol. Hope that helps a little.

I am sorry, right now we are working hard to clear the waiting list of orders, and I have not yet set up payment options other than Paypal, however we already started work some weeks ago to allow for other payment options. It is not an immediate process I am afraid.

They are being sent out on (almost) a daily basis, with a target of about 50 units per day, although it is likely to be more sporadic in the first three weeks due to my occasional travelling commitments and while we settle down the supply chain for some of the parts.

I check the posted “list” almost daily but it appears to be unchanged. Are you updating the posted list? Should I just be patient?

Yes, you’re in there. We are awaiting parts at the moment, due on Monday 5 November, so it’ll be a week after that that the units will have been assembled and ready for shipping again.
