Recent “out of stock” problem and serial number

Folks

Occasionally we all make mistakes, and in the past couple of days I’ve been making my fair share.

Firstly, some of you who have been invited over the past few days to order may have found the site saying “out of stock” on the link I provided in the invitation email. I inadvertently set the inventory to zero yesterday, this is resolved now. I apologise!

Secondly, due to numeric dyslexia on my part, FCD Pro+ units with serial numbers 112xx have inadvertently been marked 121xx on the label on the underside. The packaging shows the “correct” serial numbers (112xx). This is nothing to worry about, it’s just one of those wonderful search and replace errors I made. I have this anomaly noted, and so to avoid confusion when/if we reach the real 121xx I will skip these serial numbers.

In the meantime I thank you all for your continued patience and custom while we clear the waiting list: we are not at all far from getting there!

Many thanks, Howard

    Huh,

When I first clicked the link in your email, I saw the “out of stock” text, but after examining the link (and started to worry), clicked it once again, and boom it worked, so huh… great timing! 🙂

I cant wait to receive my funcubedonglepro+ :))

    Thanks Howard!

  2. Howard,
I received your e-mail saying the I could order several days ago. I had a problem with my credit card and later found out that it was my credit card company that made an error. Anyhow, when I got back thru the link it won’t work. Can you please send me another link so I can order again.

Thanks for all you great efforts!

I’ve tried three different cards via paypal and they all are getting rejected. I know the cards are valid.

    What do I do next?

      Hello Richard.

Are you seeing any error messages or other indications? I am trying to work out where the problem is: I am seeing a steady stream of orders coming through continually.

      Many thanks, Howard

    Howard,

When I first looked here, I was expecting a long time on a waiting list. In the event, 72 hours from initial contact to delivery. Amazing – a new toy for Christmas after all.

Thanks for all your great efforts (I’ve watched that test and packing video!) Enjoy Christmas and every success with the project(s) in the New Year.

      Hello Jim

Yes I had a lot of fun when I had the first one working, barely four months ago. I couldn’t believe what you could get in such a small package.

      Many thanks, Howard

I have funcubeproplus v2.o #0010123, 2 foot long whip antenna.

I’m emailing you as more or less a last resort. I first tried this FCD+ on my XP computer using SDR console. After reading your (or their) set up PDF I was unable to make the unit work at all. I used reliable local AM and FM stations as a test. Using SDR# on the XP, I was only able to tune a local AM station with horribly distorted audio.

Switching to my Win 7 laptop I tried the same. Worse results. No reception at all, on any band, with SDR console. I don’t think the device is recognized as I’m unable to find it anywhere on the Windows console. I could tune a local FM station with SDR# but that program is so difficult to use (e.g. I want to tune 88.9 mhz and I type that in and get a random frequency, close, instead) that I gave up.

Could it be that I’m missing a driver or is there a more user friendly front end to use? Or perhaps one with documentation that is concise and comprehensive? SDR console seems to have all the bells and whistles but just won’t work.

I had intended to use the unit, come warmer weather, for satellite QSO’s, weather photos, etc., etc. It’s very disappointing that it won’t even tune local AM.

I am an engineer (Civil) and a General Class Ham radio operator. Am I missing something simple or do I have too many expectations for the current technology?

    All the best and 73.

      Hello Peri

I am sorry that you are encountering difficulties.

May I suggest that you start off using SDR Sharp? I have a set of instructions to get you started in the Documentation and Downloads section for the FCD+ here: http://www.funcubedongle.com/?page_id=1225

There is also a Windows debugging guide.

You should not be getting distorted audio, however if you are trying to receive AM using an indoor 2′ whip that is not the optimum setup. I suggest trying FM broadcast with that setup first, but remember the FM is very wide band. For AM, an external antenna will be much more effective.

      Many thanks, Howard

Is the “registering of interest” email reply still not automatic?

Need another dongle and have done the form.

      Hello Jim

You should have received an email – let me know if not? I have to run a semi-manual job to generate the wait-list acknowledgements, it’s not fully automatic.

      Many thanks, Howard

    Re-submitted. Still nothing…….

      Hello Jim

Have you already ordered before? The system de-duplicates based on email address, so if you’ve already been on the waitlist it won’t ask again.

      Many thanks, Howard

Yes I did… I’m after a second dongle. How do I go about ordering one? I assumed I’d go on the waiting list again. I’ll try again with a different email address.
