Folks

I am due to receive some assembled boards on Monday so these will be tested and placed in enclosures ready for Tuesday (I hope!). If there is any change to this I will let you know on the site.

      Hello Mike

      No, that will be in the next batch of 500 that is going into production this week. They will be available in the next week or two. For info for others who may not be aware, this became a requirement for our forthcoming FCC certification where there is a slight difference in the way emissions are calculated to the CE certification. We were only just over the limit, but it still needed fixing of course!

        can you provide a good and simple fix for grounding the USB connector which will match the FCC requirements for all Dongles sold so far?

          Hello Peter

          As far as emissions goes, all that is needed is to retrofit a 0 ohm link from the the USB shell to ground – on most (but not all) PCBs you can use one of the many disclosed ground vias adjacent to the shell lugs.

          This does not deal with the “cellular blocked” requirement of course. There is a different bootlader and firmware for that.

    Is FCC still pursuing cellular blocking from manufacturers? As far as i know the last US analog service in 800MHz band was terminated 2008! But to remove obsolete laws has never been a priority.

    I wanted to order Funcube today, June the 23th, and I got this response:
    “We are sorry. The item you selected, FUNcube Dongle Pro Calc Shipping is sold out.”
    I understood that orders will be accepted after de 21th of June.
    What is wrong?
