Although the FCD has front end fixed and programmable filtering, particularly at VHF,\u00a0in the presence of strong out of band signals the front end can become overloaded (as has been discussed before on these pages for example <a href=\"https:\/\/www.funcubedongle.com\/?page_id=74\">https:\/\/www.funcubedongle.com\/?page_id=74<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.funcubedongle.com\/?p=456\">https:\/\/www.funcubedongle.com\/?p=456<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.funcubedongle.com\/?p=321\">https:\/\/www.funcubedongle.com\/?p=321<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>We have been working on this and with help from the team we are presently looking at using SAW filters which\u00a0presents a no tune solution. Here\u00a0are the latest incarnation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.funcubedongle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/fc2ma.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-612\" title=\"fc2ma\" src=\"https:\/\/www.funcubedongle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/fc2ma.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"678\" height=\"566\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.funcubedongle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/fc2ma.png 678w, https:\/\/www.funcubedongle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/fc2ma-300x250.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 678px) 100vw, 678px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The span is 130MHz to 160MHz, and as you can see the 3dB points are at about 142 and 148MHz. The attenuation to the infamous UK pager frequencies at 138 and 153MHz is 45dB.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.funcubedongle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/fc2mb.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-613\" title=\"fc2mb\" src=\"https:\/\/www.funcubedongle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/fc2mb.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"748\" height=\"367\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.funcubedongle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/fc2mb.png 748w, https:\/\/www.funcubedongle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/fc2mb-300x147.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 748px) 100vw, 748px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This prototype is\u00a0not pretty!
