Sounds very interesting! Any possibility of a future development also for iPad with USB camera connection kit?!?
Hi Howard, what a fantastic compact device, well done. I have just forwarded the AMSAT-BB text across to the HPSDR reflector as we have been talking about developing a VHF version, your device goes the extra mile. Later I would like to develop one that can received up to 10 GHz for receiving the AMSAT-DL satellite P5 and display a full band waterfall too.
Best regards Howard, 73’s Chris GW6KZZ
Hi,
I’ve cross posted some details on to the dttsp list, Dttsp is a very nice SDR suite.
Runs on Linux and the Sdr-shell which is the user interface now compiles OK on QT4, so its now OK on all new linux distributions.
there is already the capability to load frequency data into a Si570 via a USB interface.
I’ve offered to that group to attempt to modify the code so that it will drive your front end.
I’d like to get my hands on a dongle, can I help please.
Best wishes
Richard G8JVM
Hi Richard
Thanks for your note. When the device ships we’ll publish the HID spec. It’s a very simple interface, within a 64 byte HID packet you send a command byte folllowed by any parameters in packed binary. You are blessed with a short HID repsonse in return confriming the operation.
Howard
Hi Richard
Apologies for the delay in replying. An example of the programming interface is here: https://www.funcubedongle.com/?p=107
Regarding obtaining an FCD, they are due to be available in December. Once I have confirmed assembly dates from the manufacturers, I’ll be in a position to organise distribution arrangements for ordering.
Many thanks, Howard
Great project! Thanks!
Can it tune the lower portion of the 6m band (50MHz ~ 50.2MHz)?
Mike, unfortunately on a quick straw poll test I could only pull the VCO down to 51.5MHz.

Hi Howard,
this all sounds very interesting. Set me on the purchase list, please.
I’m looking forward to hearing any news.
